2011 was an exciting year, full of new adventures for both of us, but we are excited for 2012 and all the new experiences we'll face together. We ended 2011 by celebrating Dana's 24th birthday. Like in 2010, we went ice skating, and had a fun time with it. Reuben is very talented on ice skates! We ended 2011 by watching the ball drop with Martinelli's :) The next day, January 1, 2012 we continued to celebrating Dana's birthday with yummy burritos, burritos, and presents. It was a great day, and really got 2012 started off on the right foot.January was a busy month as Reuben finished up his last 2 interviews for residency. Dana was able to travel with him to Albuquerque. We thought this was an interesting city - Dana is still unsure on her feelings for it. We did like that it had an airport, and especially a temple right in town! We were able to go attend a session at the temple the night we arrived. We love going to the temple. There is no where else where you can feel such a sense of peace, calm, and love. We hope to match at a program that has a temple nearby. Although we have an obvious special connection with the Columbus, Ohio temple, it is just too far away!
Reuben was home for a little bit before leaving again, (this time without Dana) to Des Moines, Iowa. He loves the city and we are thankful he was able to apply for a residency program there. Reuben says it's a great program with pretty good perks for the residents and their families. We're so excited to see where we end up and we have faith that Heavenly Father will place us where we need to be.
Reuben is finishing up his month-long ICU rotation as Dana spends her days at home, trying to pick up new hobbies (like drawing, and today she started attempting to learn Spanish). She hopes for more work at the school, and has picked up a "babysitting" job. It's not exactly babysitting, because the mom is there as she is. But she just wants help, so Dana plays with her adorable 3 year old, while the mom cleans and takes care of her newborn. They're a very nice family and we're thankful she got this new job. Sidenote: Reuben dyed Dana's hair more blonde... :)
Today we have been married for 6 months and time has flown by! We are so excited to see where the future takes us in upcoming months and years. We are so thankful for all the blessings Heavenly Father has given us. We love our friends and family and thank you for all your support.

Ahh I'm so happy that you guys have a blog! And Dana, you look so good as a blond!
